Daryl Melvin, P.E


Daryl Melvin, P.E.

Daryl has three decades of experience working with tribal nations, private entities and the public sector in healthcare, engineering, leadership, and infrastructure development, Daryl Melvin is passionate about protecting tribal sovereignty and providing tribes with the tools and expertise necessary to development and implement initiatives that are in alignment with their values resulting in stronger economies and healthy communities.

He established Melvin Consulting PLLC to provide tribes and tribal entities with strategy development, negotiation advisement and specialized technical assistance to effectively navigate the complexities within the fields of engineering, construction, healthcare and more. Melvin Consulting positions clients for success in meeting their core objectives and ensures negotiations with external agencies results in the most advantageous outcomes for the client. He is Hopi Roadrunner clan and born for the Navajo Coyote Pass clan.

Prior to establishing Melvin Consulting, Daryl held the position of Chief Executive Officer for numerous tribal hospitals and health centers with a focus on elevating the work of critical access hospitals and expanding the services of ambulatory centers. For example, Daryl negotiated a tribal alliance to secure $45 million from Federal sources for a new ambulatory health facility for Fort Yuma and was directly involved in constructing the Hopi Health Care Center, a critical access hospital. Additionally, he worked with the City of Flagstaff in Governmental Affairs and Community Development providing him with a deep understanding of how tribes can work across city, county and state legislative bodies to advance tribal interests. Daryl is a licensed Civil Engineer in the State of Arizona and a Captain in the U.S. Public Health Service (ret.)

In leading diverse and complex organizations, Daryl was responsible for organizational budgets of over $38 million and for capital projects valued at $160 million. Additionally, he has extensive knowledge and experience in strategic and organizational management. This breadth of experience with tribes and governmental entities combined with his experience in the private sector, healthcare delivery and engineering provides clients with strong advocacy, planning and leadership to ensure desired and successful outcomes.

Eileen Egan


Eileen Egan

For nearly 20 years, Eileen has partnered with non-profit executives, boards and donors to empower them and their organizations to reach their full potential through the effective use of resources and leadership development.

Eileen brings a breadth of experience in resource development, program management, facilitation, recruitment, strategic planning, community development and board governance. She has insights into a wide array of nonprofits at the national and regional levels spanning higher education, hospital foundations, and rural organizations. Eileen previously served as the fundraising director at the American Indian College Fund for 11 years to support the nation’s tribal colleges and universities with her expertise in major gifts, planned giving, corporate relations, foundation relations, annual giving and prospect research.

A member of the Hopi Tribe, Eileen worked at Harvard University for many years focusing on student services, recruitment, alumni relations and public programming. Eileen presents on topics such as creating strong vision and mission statements, diversifying fundraising revenue streams, major gifts - “Making the Ask,” board governance and strategic planning.

Dyan Melvin, P.E.

Dyan Melvin, P.E.

Dyan is a practicing structural engineer and an enrolled member of the Hopi Tribe.

He provides building analysis, overseeing construction, shop drawing review, contractor communication and ensuring adherence to schedule and budget. He has experience as an special inspector and laboratory manager in the construction materials testing field. Dyan brings unique perspectives and problem solving skills to projects.

Joel Melvin

Joel Melvin        

Joel's background is in account development and sales and he is an enrolled member of the Hopi Tribe.

His work with market research firms and for Silicon Valley software startups, provides client solutions for tactical and strategic initiatives through custom project solutions. His experience is in the areas of management of evolving business applications for information and network technologies.

Darron Tewa

Darron TewA

Darron's work in constuction inspection is supported by his Associate of Science degree in Pre-Engineering from Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute (SIPI). He is member of the Hopi Tribe.

While at SIPI he earned an AutoCAD Certificate. In addtion, he was an intern as part of the Intelligent Cooperative Multi-Agent Robotic System program. As an intern, he served as the project lead overseeing the development of a Mars Yard, which is a tele-operated facility replicating the surface of Mars where students can design, build, test, and operate robotic rovers locally or through the internet from anywhere in the world.

A graduate of Hopi High School, Darron is an avid outdoorsman, artist, and volunteers locally for the Community Emergency Response Team. Prior to joining Melvin Consulting, he was a small business entrepreneur. Darron is Hopi Roadrunner/Greasewood Clan.
